The End of 3G Network Services. What's Next?
From end of 2023, 4G and 5G will replace 3G, which will be fully phased out in 2025. This may cause downgrades or loss of connection for factories and equipment using 3G, posing a risk to critical infrastructure. We can help you migrate to 4G by transitioning your communication equipment to a suitable modem, gateway, or router.

3G Sunsetting.
4G and 5G will replace 3G starting from end of 2023, with 3G being fully phased out in 2025 (as per Orange, Vodafone, T-Mobile UK). During the shutdown, factories and equipment using 3G may experience downgrades or total loss of connection, which can be disastrous for critical infrastructure and machines if not managed well. We will assist with your 3G to 4G migration, helping you transition your communication equipment to a suitable modem, gateway, or router.
Potential Speed Reductions.
While 3G routers can still fall back to 2G connections, the maximum data rate of 220 kBit/s with EDGE or 54 kBit/s with GPRS is inadequate for most modern applications, particularly real-time ones. It is therefore crucial to transition to faster and more dependable 4G, or consider other alternatives we provide, such as VDSL, fiber optic, or ethernet.
Upgrading Hardware and Software for Uninterrupted Operation without 3G.
For applications requiring real-time data, reliable connectivity, monitoring and alarming, or data consumption beyond a few kbit/s, a targeted hardware upgrade is recommended in the following areas:
- Water and waste water applications
- Connected machinery, equipment and robots
- Energy, electricity grid and oil and gas
- Critical infrastructure
Flexible, Robust, and Secure Industrial Routers.
Rely on the flexibility of our VPN routers, which can connect redundantly to the Internet via 4G, LTE450, DSL or fibre optics. Ethernet, analogue and digital IOs as well as serial interfaces (e.g. Modbus) are available for connecting the varied control technologies in an installation.

Our VPN routers offer unparalleled flexibility, enabling redundant connections to the Internet through 4G, LTE450, DSL, or fiber optics. Additionally, Ethernet, analog and digital IOs, and serial interfaces (such as Modbus) are available to connect the diverse control technologies within an installation.
View RoutersSecure and Simple Commissioning for Seamless Operations.
Our device management software simplifies router commissioning and streamlines processes, eliminating the need to share security-sensitive information with service providers. With our software, you retain complete control over the management of your installed routers in a secure, auditable, and up-to-date manner.
